Should Medicare Consider Effectiveness When it Sets Reimbursement Rates?

I love creative thinking, but this is an idea that sounds good only on the front end. As if health care isn’t already confusing enough, and the reimbursement plans convoluted enough, we can put in another layer of complexity. And, if you put this thinking into mental health services, the situation could really get fogged-up. Who would decide the criteria, and whose privacy would be compromised to get the data collected? Keep thinking, just not about this one!
